Dodiongan Falls - Another Hidden Beauty of Iligan City

My officemates and I decided to do a short hike to Dodiongan waterfall after a recurring power interruption took place. We agreed to do  it in just a half-day (5 hours). We gather ourselves outside the office at around 12:45 PM right after our lunch. After we’ve done a short preparation we do a short hike to Brgy. San Roque and took a habal-habal (motorcycles) for a ride going to Brgy. Digkilaan where Dodiongan Falls is located.

Location - Dodiongan Falls is located in Brgy. Digkila-an, Iligan City. It is a 20 meter (65 feet) high. It is situated 14 km away from Iligan City in Lanao del Norte province of the Philippines. There are misconceptions about the exact location, some sited that the falls is situated in Brgy. Bonbonon, in fact Brgy. Digkila-an is not part of Brgy. Bonbonon.

The Best Way to Get There:

One of the best way to get there is through habal-habal if you don't have a private transportation. Barinaut of Brgy. San Roque is the nearest entry point to Dodiongan Falls from the city proper. The minimum fare is Php 30- Php 40 per person for the habal-habal ride. From the city proper, there are various routes to crossing Barinaut, one of the most common is the Dalipuga line (jeepneys) and Santa Felomina / Acmac line (jeepneys).

Jump Off:

Upon reaching the boundary of Brgy. Bonbonon and Brgy. Digkila-an you can do the hike to the river stream, just follow the stream and the trails will lead you to the falls.
